Profile

Runjie focuses on patent prosecution, litigation and related matters. She has extensive experiences in drafting and prosecuting patent applications, patent re-examinations, appeals, invalidations and litigation. Runjie represents foreign and domestic clients mainly in the fields of pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, foods, agro-chemicals and organic chemistry. Her practice also expands to validity analysis, FTO, and third-party opinions, and providing legal advice on drug patent linkage, patent term extension and data protection, as well as representing in related proceedings.
Before joining Zhongzi Law Firm in 2003, she had worked as a university lecturer for three years and also had three years of experience in pharmaceutical research and development.
Runjie was admitted to practice as a patent attorney in China in 2007 and passed the U.S. patent bar examination in 2017.

Runjie earned her B.S. degree in analytical chemistry in 1994 from Hunan University, and M.S. degree in pharmaceutical chemistry in 1999 from Shenyang Pharmaceutical University.
Runjie studied US patent law and practice in Franklin Pierce School of Law (US) in 2016~2017 and earned her LLM degree in IP law.
