Bonan LIN started his professional career with a state-owned IP firm in 1982 before joining Zhongzi Law Office in 2001. He currently serves as the managing partner of the firm.
Bonan focuses on patent prosecution, counseling and litigation. Bonan has extensive experiences in the procurement of patents, patent re-examination, appeal and invalidation proceedings, and in counseling on validity, patentability and infringement issues in polymer science, organic chemistry, crop science, pharmaceuticals and chemical engineering. His expertise further extends to trade secret protection, contract and licensing, as well as invention management.
He has represented multinational companies and domestic clients in patent invalidation litigations and patent enforcement litigations before PRB and in courts in Beijing, Shanghai and other provinces, as well as the Supreme Court.

Bonan is the co-author of a seven-volume book "Patent Course", co-author and chief editor for “Service Guides and Standards for Patent Firms” issued by All China Patent Attorneys Association. He is also one of the two chief editors for a book “Professional Ethics”.

Bonan earned his Bachelor of Science degree in polymer chemistry and engineering from Tsinghua University and received a one-year training on US patent law and practice in New York City in 1985.

Bonan is an arbitrator of China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (CIETAC).
He currently serves as the vice president of All-China Patent Attorneys Association.
